JUDGES CRITIQUE

Thank you to the Midlands and Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club for the opportunity to judge their prestigious Championship Show this July. The venue and the Hall is a great improvement to Newark. I had an extremely pleasant day. I must also thank all the exhibitors whom made this possible, with their lovely entry of dogs. I did find some of the dogs getting rather too dark in colour; I worry that we could lose the rich bright red pigmentation. In the main all ridges and crowns were correct, so will not make individual comments in my critique.

My Best in Show & Dog C.C. was Bates’ Gunthwaite Midnite Preacha. I was looking for a dog that was correct in conformation, but had a “look at me” factor, he delivered all this. He really makes you look at him, especially on the move. Reserve Best in Show & Bitch C.C. was Cunningham’s Kololi Star of Walamadengie CW12 JUN CH. I was told later this was her 3rd C.C. Well done on making her up to Champion. Best Veteran & Reserve Bitch C.C. was Hewson’s Multi Int Ch Rekaylahn Blaze JW Sh.CM. Reserve Dog C. C. was Webster’s Ch Ngoma Uzuri of Umbari JW Sh.CM. Best Puppy in Show was Raymond’s Sofala Fine Design. K.C. Best Breeder Award went to the Cunninghams with Walamadengie.
