JUDGES CRITIQUE

Please may I thank the officers, committee, members and exhibitors for their support. Overall temperaments were exemplary, as were ridges, which was a concern I had when I last judged this breed. Colour also seems to have become more uniform and the current trend seems to have moved away from the very dark, almost mahogany colour we were seeing in the breed, which is a definite improvement in my opinion, I was very pleased with the overall standard of the dogs and I have no doubt many of the exhibits will take top honours in the future

Minor Puppy Dog (4)

1. Carltons Umhlandia Van Makhoba Very nicely put together young dog, very good bone, lovely outline and well balanced throughout, good depth of chest, lovely angulated shoulder, moved well coming and going,
2. Catherells Faahac Free N’Easy Liver nose dog with correct pigment head shape and expression, at a different stage in development than my winner as still needs chest to drop and mature on, well let down hocks and correct topline which he kept on the move, a very pleasing puppy,
3. Bells Msingi Pillow Talk

Craven & Mackfalls Hespa Henry Higgins Upstanding puppy, correct depth of muzzle, head, expression and ears, good reach of neck on well angulated shoulders, good overall outline, moved with determination and drive, correct tail set, very nice youngster, pleased to award him Best Dog Puppy and Best Puppy in Show
2. Greeves’s Hespa Hermes Pushed very hard for top spot, very nice clear wheaten with good pigmentation excellent expression, overall outline very similar to 1 but just a little less mature, needs to harden up which I am sure will come with time. Thoroughly balanced throughout
